Borran Annexe is ours, but it's separate. It's attached to our house here in Oxen Park. It's a quiet hamlet, not a village. You'll see our cars, but the annexe is all yours.
It's a studio, so it sleeps two. One room with the bed, kitchen, and sitting area all together. There's a proper wet room with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean, warm, and dry, but it's not a hotel. It's a base.
The stairs up to the main house are right next to your front door. We use them. You might hear us sometimes, but generally it's quiet.
You've got a small, decked patio with a table and chairs. It's enclosed. It catches the evening sun.
The pub is about a two-minute walk away, 175 yards. They do food. The nearest shop is a drive, about three and a half miles to Greenodd.
You're really well placed for Grizedale Forest. It's about three miles. Good for walking and mountain biking. They have a cafe there too. The Forestry England page for Grizedale has trail maps.
Oxen Park has a community cinema. It shows films in the village hall, mostly in autumn and winter. It's a proper local thing.
Coniston Water is about a 15-minute drive. Windermere is maybe 25 minutes. The southern Lakes are easy from here. If you want the bigger towns, Ulverston or Ambleside are within half an hour.
Facilities: there's a woodburning stove, TV, parking right outside, and all bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two dogs. The garden bit is enclosed, but it's not massive.
For planning days out, Lake District National Park is the main authority site.
