The Old Chapel is on Lowick Green, in South Lakeland. It’s a detached converted chapel, so it’s a big, solid stone building. You get the whole place and garden to yourselves.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom, which is really handy. The rating is 5 Star, so it’s well-equipped and finished to a high standard.
The main living space is all open plan under the old chapel roof. It feels very big and light. The stairs up to the mezzanine bedroom are glass-fronted, so if you’ve got younger kids or anyone wary of heights, just be aware of that.
The garden is surrounded by stone walls but it’s not completely secure. A determined dog could get out, so you can’t really leave them unsupervised out there.
There’s a local pub, The Farmers Arms, a short walk away. For everything else, you’ll need to drive. Coniston Water is about ten miles. Windermere is a bit further, maybe twenty-five minutes. You’ve got all the lake activities there: boat hire, cruises, and the towns to wander around.
The coast is close. Bardsea Beach is about five miles away. For walking, Grizedale Forest is on your doorstep and the fells aren’t far.
In terms of what’s here: plenty of parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, cots and highchairs available. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two pets.
