Jenlea Cottage
Jenlea Cottage is in Grizebeck, a small village just outside the main Lake District tourist spots. It’s a two-bedroom stone cottage, sleeps four, with parking right outside. You get the garden to yourselves, it’s enclosed, and it looks out over fields towards the estuary and fells. The view is the main thing.
Inside, it’s open plan downstairs. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it’s well-equipped and comfortable. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. The stairs are typical cottage stairs: they’re fine, but they turn sharply at the top.
There’s a local shop about five minutes walk away and a pub about three minutes walk. The pub serves food. For a proper meal out or a supermarket, you’d drive to Broughton-in-Furness, about six miles.
Location wise, you’re in the National Park but it’s quieter here. Coniston Water is a twenty minute drive for boats and walks. Windermere and Ambleside are about twenty-five minutes if you want the busier towns. The coast at Millom or the Duddon Estuary is closer for a different walk.
The cottage has WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. The heating and electricity are all included in the price.
