Riverside Cottage

Riverside Cottage is in Low Nibthwaite. It's a terrace cottage, part of the old sawmill. There's a big garden with a couple of places to sit, and the River Crake runs along the bottom. You're allowed to fish from our bit of the bank.

It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. The main entrance and one bedroom are wheelchair accessible. The rest of the cottage isn't, because it's on different levels and the stairs are fairly steep. You can park two cars on the drive, and there's a big garage for bikes or kayaks.

You're right on the edge of Coniston Water here. You can walk or cycle straight out onto the trails around the lake and the fells without using the car. The local pub is about a mile away, up the road in Nibthwaite. It does food. The nearest shop is four miles away in Greenodd, so you'll want to bring a big shop with you.

Coniston village is about three miles up the road, so ten minutes in the car. You can get boat trips on the lake from there. Hawkshead, with Beatrix Potter's house, is maybe fifteen minutes' drive. Ulverston is twenty minutes south if you need a bigger supermarket.

Facilities: Washing machine, TV, wifi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a wood burner, but you need to bring your own wood.
