Allt Maen
This is Allt Maen. It's the first-floor flat in an old barn conversion near Lowick Bridge in the southern Lakes. The place sleeps two, in one bedroom. There's one bathroom with a shower.
It's got a 3 Star rating. Like it says, it's comfortable and spacious but not luxurious. You're up on the first floor, so there are stairs to get to the front door. The main living area looks out over the fields towards the Old Man of Coniston. You can see the fell from the window.
The barn is detached, so it's just you and the ground-floor flat below. You have your own enclosed patio area with furniture. There's parking right there.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove which is good for cooler evenings. We include all the bedding and towels. You've got WiFi, a cot, and a highchair if you need them. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
Location wise, it's quiet and rural. There's a friendly pub you can walk to in a few minutes. The nearest shop for a paper or basics is about three miles away in Greenodd.
You're well placed for getting out. Coniston Water is about five minutes' drive for boating. Grizedale Forest is close by for walking or mountain biking. Windermere is about twenty minutes by car. For a longer walk, the Blawith Fells are right there, or you can drive into the heart of the fells quite quickly.
