Allt Maen
Allt Maen is one of two flats in an old barn on our farm at Lowick Bridge. It's the upstairs one. It's just for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and comfortable but not luxurious. Everything you need, really.
You're in a proper farming valley here, not the busy tourist parts. The views from the windows are just fields and fells. You can see the Old Man of Coniston from the front. The barn is detached, so it's quiet. You have your own enclosed bit of garden with a patio.
There's a wood burner for cooler nights. We include the logs. There's WiFi, but it's a farm, so it's not super fast. Parking is right outside.
The pub is about a five minute walk down the lane. They do food. The nearest shop is in Greenodd, three miles away.
Coniston Water is ten minutes by car. Grizedale Forest is great for walking or mountain biking. For the fells, Blawith and Torver are right on the doorstep, or you can drive into the main Lake District peaks. The Lake District National Park site has good walking information.
You can bring up to two dogs. We have a cot and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included.
