The Ticket Office is in Torver. It used to be part of the station here, a long time ago. It’s quiet. You look out at trees and fields.
It’s for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It’s got a 3 Star rating. Everything works and it’s clean. It’s all on the ground floor, no stairs to worry about.
Because it was the ticket office, it still feels like it. The old Furness Railway crest is on the fireplace. The ticket hatch is still in the wall. That’s the main thing about it.
There’s a restaurant about a hundred yards up the road. The shop is in Coniston, about two and a half miles away. Coniston Water is right there, a minute’s drive. You can walk to it.
For walking, you’ve got the Coniston Old Man and the fells all around. Grizedale Forest is about a fifteen minute drive for the mountain biking and the treetop walk. Hawkshead village is ten minutes away by car.
If you like the steam boats, the Gondola goes up and down Coniston Water from March onwards. The Lakeside railway is about half an hour’s drive, near Ulverston.
It’s got a patio with a table and chairs, fully enclosed. There’s parking for one car. You can bring one dog. All the bedding and towels are included. There’s a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a cot if you need it.
