Thurston View is in Coniston. It's a terraced cottage up the hill from the main village. You look out over Coniston Water from the front.
It sleeps four, in two double bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and has what you need but it's not a show home. It's just a comfortable cottage. The renovation kept the character. The stairs are normal for a cottage of this age.
You can walk down to the lake in about ten minutes. Good for messing about in canoes or just a walk. The village shops and pubs are a few hundred yards away. The Sun Inn does food.
There's a small enclosed patio across the lane with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the afternoon. Inside, there's a gas fire in the living room. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, which is handy with the mud round here.
You can walk straight from the door. The Old Man of Coniston is the big one. For a less steep day, Tarn Hows is popular. Lake District National Park has all the maps and route ideas. National Trust Lake District covers a lot of the local land.
Grizedale Forest is about a fifteen minute drive. They've got walking trails and a sculpture trail. Hawkshead and Ambleside are both within half an hour if you want a busier market town.
Facilities are all listed. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. No pets, sorry. The WiFi usually works fine.
