Bogle Barn
Bogle Barn is in Satterthwaite, which is up in the woods near Grizedale. It's a converted barn. You've got your own courtyard out the front with decent views across the valley.
It sleeps four across two bedrooms. There's an en-suite shower room for each bedroom, which is handy. The place has a 4 Star rating. It means it's been done up to a good standard, comfortable and clean.
The layout is a bit unusual. The kitchen and dining area is actually upstairs on the first floor. Downstairs is the living room with a wood burner. It works well, keeps the social space together. You come through the front door into a boot room area. Good for hanging wet coats and muddy boots.
Satterthwaite itself is tiny. There's a great local pub, the Eagles Head, which does food. You're right in Grizedale Forest. We're talking miles of walking and cycling trails right from your door. The Forestry England site for Grizedale has maps and details if you want to plan routes. Go Ape is there too if that's your thing.
Hawkshead village is about a ten minute drive. They've got proper shops, cafes, and a few pubs. Coniston is maybe fifteen minutes. You've got the lake there and Coniston Old Man if you want a proper hike. Windermere and Ambleside are about half an hour away by car.
For facilities, you've got the wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking on site. We can provide a cot and highchair. We include all bedding and towels. You can bring up to two dogs.
