Haystacks is in Storrs, which is a village just outside Bowness-on-Windermere. It's a semi-detached cottage. You get a parking space and a small patio garden.
The cottage sleeps four, five if you count the child's single bed in the small third bedroom. There are three bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. It's not a show home.
The stairs are a bit steep. The living room is open plan with the dining area, so it's a good space to come back to.
You can walk into Bowness centre in about 20 minutes. There are shops, cafes, and the lake there. You can get boat trips on Windermere from the piers.
For walks, you're right on the edge of the fells. You can drive to many trailheads within 15 minutes. The Lake District National Park site has good maps. National Trust Lake District is useful for their bigger estates like Fell Foot.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. No pets.
