The Coaches
The Coaches is a cottage near Windermere. It's actually one of two, Farriers and The Coach House, in the garden of the main house. It's quiet here, but you can walk into Bowness-on-Windermere in about ten minutes. That's where you'll find most of the shops and pubs.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star. It's been done up nicely inside. It's open plan downstairs. You can bring one dog.
The garden is shared with the other cottage, but it's a big space. There's a patio with a barbecue. Parking is right outside.
You're a short walk from the lake itself. The steamers leave from Bowness pier. For walking, you can start right from the door. The bus stop and train station are close if you don't want to drive.
Ambleside is about ten minutes by car. Grasmere, where Wordsworth's house is, is maybe twenty minutes. The National Trust's Beatrix Potter place, Hill Top, is at Near Sawrey, which is a fifteen minute drive. For bigger days out, you're right in the middle of the Lake District. Coniston and Ullswater are within half an hour.
Facilities: it's got WiFi, a TV, a washing machine. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. Bedding is included.
