Mere View
Mere View is in Ambleside. It's an apartment on the first floor of an old Victorian hotel, right on the edge of Lake Windermere.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms, and both have their own bathrooms. There's also another bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and serviceable. The decor is fairly plain.
The main thing is the view. The living room has a big bay window that looks straight out over the lake. You can see Loughrigg Fell, the Langdale Pikes, and a few other fells from it. It's not blocked by anything.
Ambleside Pier is basically next door. You can get the steamer from there. The centre of Ambleside is about a fifteen minute walk. There are shops, pubs, and places to eat there. A lot of walking paths start from the town.
You're allowed one dog. There's parking on site. It has WiFi, a TV, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
Windermere village is ten minutes by car. Grasmere and Keswick are within a half hour drive for more walking. Useful links: Lake District National Park and National Trust Windermere.
