Mere View
Mere View is an apartment in Ambleside, on Lake Windermere. It's on the first floor of what used to be a Victorian hotel. The main thing is the view. There's a big bay window in the living room that looks right out over the water towards the fells. You can see Wray Castle from it.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, and they both have their own bathroom. There's a third bathroom as well with a jacuzzi bath. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean. It's not a fancy modern place.
You're right next to Ambleside Pier. You can walk straight out and get on the lake steamers from there. Walking into Ambleside town centre takes about fifteen or twenty minutes. It's got the usual cafes, pubs, and outdoor shops. Plenty of walking routes start from there, up towards Loughrigg or Wansfell.
Windermere town is a ten minute drive. Grasmere and Keswick are further north, maybe half an hour or so, for more walking. The Lake District National Park site is good for planning routes.
For facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a dishwasher, and bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
The local pub is about ten yards from the front door. They do food.
