Glenmore Cottage is in Ambleside. It's a terraced stone cottage, about a hundred years old. It sleeps four, two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The location is good. It's just a short, level walk into the middle of town for the shops and cafes, but it's on a quiet street so you don't get the noise. You can leave the car parked up. You can walk to Rothay Park or down to Lake Windermere from the door. For the fells, you just head out.
There's a small enclosed garden at the front. At the back, there's private parking for two cars, which is useful in Ambleside. Down in the basement there are two rooms with a table tennis table, darts, and a small snooker table. It's a good space if the weather turns.
Inside, it's got what you need: a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. The stairs are typical for a cottage of this age, so they're a bit steeper than in a modern house.
For a bigger day out, Grasmere and Coniston are within half an hour. The National Trust has a lot of places nearby, like Fell Foot or Sticklebarn. The Lake District National Park site has all the walking routes and information.
