Kingston is on the edge of Ambleside, in the bit called Waterhead. It’s our old family house really.
You sleep eight in four bedrooms. There’s two bathrooms, one upstairs and one down. It’s on three floors. The stairs are normal house stairs.
The kitchen is the one we used for years, so it’s got everything you'd need. The garden out the back is a courtyard with a table and chairs. There's also a boot room for muddy gear and a loo in the building opposite, which is handy.
You can see the lake from some of the windows. Waterhead Pier is literally two minutes’ walk away. You can get the steamer boats from there. It’s a good way to see the lake without driving.
Ambleside town centre is about a 15 minute walk up the road. It’s got the usual cafes and outdoor shops. Stock Ghyll Force waterfall is a nice walk from the cottage. The path starts just past the church.
For a bigger day out, you can drive to Grasmere in about ten minutes. Or Keswick is half an hour.
The facilities are all there: parking for two cars, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We’ve got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
We don’t take pets, sorry.
