This is Rosthwaite Annexe. It's a detached cottage in Windermere, just a couple of minutes' walk from the shops and pubs in the town centre.
It's a three-star place, so think clean and comfortable, not luxury. It sleeps two. There's one bedroom upstairs, which is a galleried room looking down over the living area. The bed is a kingsize. The stairs up to it are a typical cottage staircase, so they're a bit steeper than normal.
Downstairs is all open plan: kitchen, dining area, and sitting room with a TV. There's a patio garden out the back. It has its own parking space on site, which is handy in Windermere.
You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine and Wi-Fi.
The location is the main thing. You can walk into Windermere for a meal or a drink, and Bowness-on-Windermere with the lake is only about a mile down the road. You're right in the Lake District National Park for walking.
For planning, the Lake District National Park Authority site is useful. The National Trust also looks after a lot of the local land.
