Running Hare is in Windermere. It's a stone terraced cottage, so it's in a row. It looks out over Queen's Park and the fells.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. One bedroom is on the first floor, it's a twin that can be made into a super king. The bathroom on that floor has a bath with a shower over it. The other bedroom is up another flight of stairs on the top floor. It's a double with its own shower room. The stairs are proper cottage stairs, a bit steep and wind a little.
Downstairs, there's a living room with a wood burner. The kitchen is a decent size with a big oven and a dishwasher. There's a small utility room for boots and wet coats. You can get into the enclosed garden from the living room through French doors. It's a courtyard style, not massive, but it's there.
The village centre is about half a mile walk. There are shops, pubs, and places to eat. Bowness-on-Windermere is a bit further, maybe a fifteen-minute walk downhill. That's where the lake cruises start and there are more shops and restaurants.
For walks, you don't need to drive. Orrest Head is close and the views from the top are very good. You can walk around Queen's Park from the door. If you have a car, the whole Lake District is there to explore. Ambleside is about ten minutes drive, Grasmere about twenty.
Facilities: it's got the things you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car on site. You can bring up to two dogs.
