Running Hare is in Windermere, about five minutes' walk from the village centre. It's a stone terraced cottage. It looks out onto Queen's Park, which is just fields, really. Nice views of the fells from the upstairs windows.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One's on the first floor, the other's on the top floor under the eaves. That one has beams, mind your head. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase, so they twist a bit.
There's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen has a big range oven and a dishwasher. There's a utility room with space for boots and wet coats. The garden is a courtyard patio out the back, through French doors.
You can walk into Windermere village in a few minutes for shops and places to eat. Bowness-on-Windermere is a bit further, maybe a fifteen minute walk down the hill. That's where you get the lake cruises from.
For walking, you can go straight from the door. Orrest Head is a good short hike with a proper view. School Knott and Brant Fell are close too. If you drive, Ambleside is about ten minutes and Grasmere maybe twenty.
Facilities: parking for one car on site, WiFi, TV, washing machine, bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs. There's a small shop on the same street.
