Belle View
Belle View is our place in Bowness. It's the upstairs part of a town house, so that means you get the balcony. There's another holiday let on the ground floor, but you have your own front door. It sleeps six, across three bedrooms, with one bathroom.
It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. Everything's included, like bedding and towels, and there's Wi-Fi and a TV. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher too. Parking is on site, which is handy in Bowness.
The location is the main thing. You're about a two-minute walk to the middle of Bowness, and maybe five minutes down to the lake shore at Bowness Bay. There's a shop and places to eat about 200 yards away.
The balcony gets the sun in the afternoon. The stairs inside are a standard turn, not too steep. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
You're right on the edge of everything here. For walks, you can pick up paths straight from the town. For a longer drive, you're in the middle of the Lake District. Keswick, Ambleside, and Grasmere are all within about half an hour. The Lake District National Park site is useful for planning. If you like historic houses, National Trust has a few nearby, like Hill Top or Sizergh Castle.
