This is Water Howes Cottage in Ambleside. It's a semi-detached stone cottage on a quiet street, about 200 yards from the main part of town.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one has a walk-in shower and a separate bath. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place has been renovated, so it's got things like slate floors downstairs and decent quality sofas and bedding. The kitchen is a good size.
You can walk into Ambleside in a few minutes for shops, cafes, and pubs. You can also start walks right from the door. The lake, Windermere, is close. You can get a steamer from Bowness, which is a short drive away, to see the scenery.
Within about half an hour you can drive to places like Grizedale Forest, or Hawkshead for the Beatrix Potter gallery. Keswick is about a 25 minute drive. The Langdale valley is very close for walking.
The cottage has a wood burning stove, parking for one car, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
