Water Howes Cottage

Water Howes Cottage is in Ambleside, right in the town. It's a semi-detached stone cottage on a quiet street.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom is new with a walk-in shower and a separate bath. The rating is 4 Star, which is about right. It's been renovated well. There are slate floors downstairs.

The kitchen is extended so there's a decent amount of space. It's open plan with the living area. There's a woodburning stove in there. The garden is enclosed, which is handy.

You're about 200 yards from the town centre. Shops, pubs, cafes, all on your doorstep. You don't really need the car if you don't want to drive.

Walking starts from the door. For the lake, you can walk down to Waterhead or drive to Bowness to get the steamer. The boats are good for seeing the scenery.

Within half an hour's drive you've got Coniston, Grasmere, and Langdale. For a wet day, the Armitt Museum in Ambleside is interesting, or you can drive to the Beatrix Potter place in Bowness. Grizedale Forest is about twenty minutes away if you want the Go Ape tree-top stuff or just forest walks.

Facilities: there's parking for one car, bike storage, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets.
