Elleray Cottage is on Elleray Road in Windermere. It's a detached house, so you're not sharing any walls. It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Three bedrooms have their own shower, and the other one is right next to the main bathroom.
It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-finished and everything's in good order. It's not fussy, just a solid, comfortable place.
There are two living rooms, one upstairs and one down. Both have wood burners. The upstairs one has French doors that open to the garden and a view over the lake. The kitchen is big and has everything you'd need to cook for a group.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got kids or a dog. There's parking on the drive for probably two cars.
You're right in the town. The shop, a couple of pubs, and some restaurants are about a two-minute walk. From the house, you can walk down to Bowness and the lakefront in about 15-20 minutes. It's a steep walk back.
You're well placed for the rest of the Lakes. Ambleside is ten minutes by car, Grasmere about fifteen. The Lake District National Park site has good walking information. For historic houses, things like National Trust places are all within a half-hour drive. Beatrix Potter's house, Hill Top, is near Hawkshead.
Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. The bedding and towels are included. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. No pets, sorry.
