Beech Cottage

This is Beech Cottage. It's right in the middle of Windermere town. You go down a little side lane behind the shops to get to it. It’s quiet there, but you’re only a minute's walk from the main street whenever you want it.

It sleeps three. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom. It’s got a 3 Star rating. That means it’s comfortable and clean. The stairs are in the description for a reason. They’re steep and narrow, proper cottage stairs. You need to take care on them.

The kitchen and living area is all one room. It’s got a TV and WiFi. There's a shower, a washing machine, and bedding is included. No pets, sorry.

You can walk to everything. There’s a shop, pubs, and restaurants about ten seconds away. For a good walk from your door, go up to Orrest Head. It’s not a long walk and the view over the lake is the whole point.

Bowness and the lake are a short drive or a nice walk down the hill. You can get boat trips from there. Coniston, Kendal, and the rest of the Lakes are easy to get to from here. If you want to plan walks or days out, the Lake District National Park site is useful. For local heritage, you could look at English Heritage North West.
