The Stable Loft is in Bowness. It's an apartment above an old stable.
It sleeps two. There's one bedroom and one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it’s clean and comfortable without being overly fancy. You get up to it via a spiral staircase. It’s not ideal if you have trouble with stairs.
It’s in a quiet spot but you can be in the middle of Bowness in under a minute. The shops, pubs, and restaurants start about a hundred yards away. The lake is a short walk down the hill.
You have a dedicated parking space. Once you’re here, you can leave the car. Everything you need is on foot, and you avoid the traffic and parking charges.
From Bowness you can get the lake steamers over to Ambleside or Lakeside. At Lakeside there’s an aquarium and you can get the Haverthwaite steam train. Windermere town is a walk or a short bus ride away for more shops and a cinema.
For walking, you can start from the door. A gentle stroll to the lake, or more serious hikes if you drive a short way. Details on good walks are on the official Lake District site and the National Trust pages.
Facilities include WiFi, TV, bedding and towels, and the parking. No pets.
It's one of three apartments here. The Round Window and The Stable Nest are the other two. You can book them together if you’re a group.
