Primrose Cottage
Primrose Cottage is in Storrs, which is just about a mile down the road from the centre of Bowness on Windermere. It's a stone terraced cottage, sort of tucked in behind the White Fox pub. You've got a little paved area out the front.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one twin. There's one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. It's not a show home.
The stairs are worth mentioning. They're cottage stairs, so they're steep and a bit on the narrow side. Something to be aware of if you've got bad knees or very small children.
The main room downstairs is all open plan. There's a table, the kitchen area, and a sitting area with an open fire. It's decorative, so you can't actually use it. But it looks nice. The kitchen has a dishwasher.
You're a minute's walk from the White Fox pub, which does meals. Bowness centre is a nice 20-minute stroll along the lake road, or a couple of minutes in the car. It's busy, especially in season. Lots of shops, cafes, and places to eat. You can hire boats there, or get on the lake steamers.
For walking, you're right in the middle of it all. The property details mention abseiling and things. For that, you'd need to go to one of the activity centres a short drive away. There's a golf course a few minutes down the road towards Windermere.
Parking is on site, which is a real plus around here. Bedding and towels are included. There's wifi and a TV. No pets.
