Lavender Cottage is in Bowland Bridge, up near Windermere. It's a detached cottage, so no neighbours through the walls. It's old, from the 1700s. It's got a wood burner, flagstone floors, and oak beams. It feels solid.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is high. It's comfortable and well looked after. The garden is yours, and there's about two acres of grounds around it to wander in. Parking is right there.
There's a pub, the Hare and Hounds, you can walk to in about ten minutes. They do food.
Kendal is about a twenty minute drive. It's a proper market town with shops and cafes. Windermere and Bowness are about fifteen minutes away. That's where you get the lake steamers from. The scenery is everywhere here, so you can just walk out the door. For more planned walks, the Lake District National Park site has good routes.
Inside, it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. The stairs are typical for a cottage, so they're a bit steep and curved.
