Barker Knott Farm Cottage
Right, Barker Knott Farm Cottage. It's the bit on the end of our farmhouse. The original part is 16th century, but the cottage is all one level on the ground floor. So no stairs.
It's for two people. We call it a cottage but it's more like a studio, really. One room, plus a separate bathroom. Everything you need is in there.
It's part of a working beef and sheep farm. You'll see us about, but we'll leave you to it. The view from the door is just fields and fells. You can walk straight out.
The ceilings are low in places. Some exposed beams. It stays cool in summer because the walls are thick.
It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a woodburning stove, a shower, a TV, and WiFi. The bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside.
The Black Dog is the local pub, about half a mile away. They do food. The nearest shop is about a mile and a half, in Windermere or Bowness.
Bowness and Windermere are ten minutes by car. You can get the steamer boats from there. Windermere Golf Club is two miles away. For bigger walks, the fells are a short drive.
We don't allow pets, sorry.
