The apartment's in Bowness on Windermere, at the Quarry Rigg development. It's one of a group of apartments there. You get a garage with it, which is useful for a car or for putting bikes and walking gear in.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's nicer than the basic ones. The finish is good. There's a living area that opens out onto a balcony. You can sit out there if the weather's decent.
You're a few minutes' walk from the middle of Bowness. There are shops, cafes, and restaurants. The lake is about a ten minute walk downhill. The views from there across the water are very good. You can get a steamer from Bowness jetty up to Ambleside or down to Lakeside.
Windermere village is about a mile up the hill. It's got a train station and more shops. The car ferry across the lake is nearby, which takes you over to Hawkshead and Grizedale Forest. Coniston Water is about a twenty minute drive.
The main thing here is walking. You're right in the middle of it. The fells around Ambleside and Grasmere are within half an hour. For shorter walks, you can follow the lakeshore paths from Bowness.
In terms of what's there: it has wifi, a TV, a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. There's parking. No pets, I'm afraid.
