Waterhead Studio
Waterhead Studio is in Ambleside. It's right on the shore of Windermere. You can see the lake from most of the rooms.
It sleeps ten people. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a balcony and a small bit of lake frontage you can use. You also get to share a jetty, and there's a boat storage area if you need it.
The stairs inside are quite steep. Just so you know.
It's on the southern edge of Ambleside. The shops and pubs in town are about a mile away. There's a spot called Waterhead about a quarter of a mile along, where you can get the lake cruises.
Brockhole visitor centre is close by. It's got big gardens and trails, and an information desk. Good for a wet day. Brockhole Lake District.
Hawkshead and Grasmere are a short drive away. Wordsworth's house, Dove Cottage, is in Grasmere. Beatrix Potter's house, Hill Top, is at Near Sawrey. If you're interested in that sort of thing, they're worth a look. Wordsworth Grasmere and National Trust Hill Top.
For walking, you're right in it. You can get straight onto the fells from here. Coniston Water and the rest of the lakes are within half an hour.
Facilities: it's got parking, WiFi, a TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
