Crag View is a first-floor apartment in a big Victorian house in Ambleside. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.
The main thing is the view. The big windows look west, over the gardens and out to the Coniston fells. You can see a sliver of Windermere from the living room. The kitchen looks into the woodland. We get deer through the garden most days.
You're high up, so there are steps to the front door. Just so you know.
You can walk down to the edge of Windermere in a couple of minutes, through Borrans Park. The Galava Roman Fort is right there. Waterhead pier is close by if you want to get a boat.
Ambleside town centre is a ten minute walk. There are shops, pubs, and a couple of small cinemas.
From the door, you can walk up onto the fells like Loughrigg or Todd Crag without needing the car.
For other days out, Grasmere is about ten minutes by car. Keswick is maybe half an hour. National Trust Lake District has good information on walks and places.
Facilities: it has a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's one dedicated parking space. No pets, I'm afraid.
