The Hollies
The Hollies is in Ambleside. It's a stone cottage, end of a terrace of two. You're up the hill a bit, below Wansfell. You can see the town and the fells from the front.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. It's quite small, which is fine if that's what you're after. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're steep.
You can walk into Ambleside in about ten minutes. That's where all the shops, cafes, and pubs are. The National Trust owns a lot of the land here. You can walk up Wansfell from the back door, or get to Stock Ghyll Force easily.
Windermere is about ten minutes by car. You can get the lake steamers from there. For longer walks, the Fairfield Horseshoe starts in town, and Langdale is a twenty-minute drive. Grasmere and Coniston are within half an hour.
The cottage has a woodburning stove, which is good. There's a dishwasher, TV, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs. Parking is on the street outside.
