Cornerstones is in the middle of Ambleside. It's a stone cottage, right on the street. You can walk to everything from here.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is useful. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well looked after and comfortable. The stairs are steep and a bit narrow. Just so you know.
You're a minute's walk from the shops and cafes. There are a few good pubs for food. For a bigger walk, you can just head straight out from the door onto the fells. The lake is a five minute walk down the road.
Windermere is about ten minutes by car. You can get boats from there. Grasmere, with the Wordsworth connections, is a fifteen minute drive. Keswick is probably half an hour.
The place has a wood burner, which is good for cooler evenings. There's a small enclosed yard out the back. It gets the sun in the afternoon. Inside, it's been done up to a decent standard. There are slate floors downstairs.
It has the things you'd need: washing machine, dishwasher, wifi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, I'm afraid.
