Eskdale is a flat in Ambleside. It's on the ground floor in a small block, where the old Kirkstone Foot Hotel used to be. The location is quiet.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's been refurbished to a good standard.
You walk into Ambleside. It's down Peggy Hill, which is steep. Takes about five minutes. The town has all the usual stuff: shops, cafes, places to eat. There are two little cinemas, which is nice if the weather turns.
You can walk straight from the door. Wansfell is right there. For longer walks, the bus services from Ambleside are very good. You can get to Windermere, Grasmere, Keswick, Coniston, all without using the car.
Facilities: it's got a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's parking. Bedding and towels are included. The bathroom has grab rails. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
For planning trips, Lake District National Park has all the information. The National Trust looks after a lot of the land and houses around here.
