Eskdale
Eskdale is an apartment in Ambleside. It's on the ground floor of a small block, where the old Kirkstone Foot Hotel used to be. It's quiet there.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and modern. Everything is on one level which makes it easy.
You can walk to the centre of Ambleside in five minutes. It's a steep walk down Peggy Hill, so you need to be okay with that. Coming back up takes a bit longer. Ambleside has everything you need: shops, pubs, cafes. There are two small cinemas which are good for a wet day.
You can start walks from the door. Wansfell is right there. For the bigger fells, you can get the bus from Ambleside. The 555 goes to Grasmere and Keswick. There's also a bus to Hawkshead and Coniston.
The apartment has a washing machine and a dishwasher. There's parking. Towels and bedding are included. You can bring one dog.
If you're planning walks, the Lake District National Park site is useful. The National Trust looks after a lot of the local land and car parks.
