Badger Cottage
Badger Cottage is up the hill from Ambleside. It's a modern townhouse, one of a few built together. It's in a quiet spot, a five minute walk down into the town centre.
It sleeps four people, maybe five with a child. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which feels about right. It's been done up recently. It's comfortable and they've put in things like good insulation and double glazing.
You can walk straight from the door onto the fells. Or it's an easy walk down into Ambleside for the shops, cafes, and pubs. You don't really need the car if you don't want to drive.
The patio is out the back. It's a small, paved space just for you. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Wi-Fi, TV, parking for one car on the drive. All the bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.
For walks and local information, the Lake District National Park site is useful. For bigger days out, National Trust Lake District has all their properties. Windermere is ten minutes by car, Grasmere is about fifteen. Keswick is half an hour.
