Cannondale is a detached house in Bowness on Windermere. It’s a five star place, which really just means it’s been done up to a high standard and is well-equipped. It’s not fussy though.
It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms, which is useful. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor, and the entrance is wheelchair accessible, so it can work well for someone with limited mobility.
The living room is a good size and has a wood burner. The French doors from there and from the kitchen open out onto a patio and an enclosed garden. It’s all fenced in, so it’s secure for dogs and kids.
The kitchen is open plan with the dining area. It has a dishwasher and a washing machine. They’ve also put in an electric vehicle charger.
You can walk into either Windermere village or Bowness from here. It’s about a mile to shops, pubs, and the lake shore. For a trip on the lake, you can get on the boats at Bowness.
It’s a good base for walking or cycling. You’re right in the south Lakes, so you can get to a lot of the well-known paths and fells within half an hour’s drive. The property is dog friendly – they allow two – and they’ve fitted an outdoor shower to wash muddy dogs.
Bedding and towels are included, and there’s parking on site.
