Cannondale
Cannondale is in Bowness on Windermere. It's a detached house, so no neighbours through the walls. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing dogs.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, all with their own bathroom. One bedroom is on the ground floor, which is useful. The place was done up a few years ago, so it's in good order. It's a 5 Star property, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable.
The living room is a good size, with a wood burner. The kitchen is open-plan. Both have doors out to the patio. There's parking on the drive and an electric vehicle charger.
You're about halfway between Windermere village and Bowness. It's a walk down to either, but it's a steep hill back up. A local taxi costs about a fiver if you don't fancy the climb. There's a shop and a pub about a mile away.
The house is at 500 feet, so you get a view. You can pick up the Dales Way footpath right from the door. There's an outdoor dog shower to clean muddy paws.
It's a quiet residential area, so we ask that you keep outside noise down after 10pm.
From here, you're in a good spot for the South Lakes. You can drive to most of the popular walks within half an hour. For trip planning, these sites are useful: Lake District National Park and National Trust Lake District.
Facilities: it has the things you'd expect - washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
