Orrest Howe
Orrest Howe is up on Orrest Head in Windermere. It's a detached stone house in the trees, about a five minute walk from the town centre.
It sleeps ten people across five bedrooms. Three of those have en-suites, and there's another family bathroom plus two separate toilets. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well finished and has everything you'd need.
The kitchen is big and modern. It has a wine chiller. There are two living rooms, one with a wood burning stove. The garden is wooded and private, with a few different spots to sit outside. There's a hot tub at the back.
You can walk into Windermere from the house. The shops, pubs and restaurants are only about five minutes down the hill. Turn the other way from the front gate and you're straight onto the footpath up Orrest Head. The view from the top is the classic one you see in pictures. It's about a twenty minute walk up.
From the house, Bowness and the lake shore are just over a mile away. Ambleside is about a fifteen minute drive. For a longer day out, Keswick, Grasmere and Coniston are all within a half hour drive.
It has parking on the drive for several cars, including an electric vehicle charger. All the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, and a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
