West View
West View is in Bowness on Windermere. It’s a first floor apartment, so you’ve got stairs up to it. The building is quiet, but you’re basically on the high street. Two or three minutes walk and you’re right in the middle of it all.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s a 3 Star, so it’s clean and comfortable but not luxurious. It’s compact, like most places round here. You’ve got a balcony that looks out towards the woods on Claife Heights.
The lake is a five minute walk down the hill. From there you can get on the cruise boats to Ambleside or just wander along the shore. The high street has all the usual pubs, restaurants and shops. It’s busy, especially in season, but you can step away from it quickly.
If you want to go further out, the bus service from Bowness is good. You can get to Hawkshead, Grasmere, and other places without using the car. For walks, you can start right from the door or drive a short way into the fells.
Facilities: parking is on site, which is a real help in Bowness. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a TV and a shower. It’s open plan living. No pets, sorry.
