West View
It's West View, in Bowness. First floor flat, above the village. You're in the middle of everything without being right on the main street. Some noise from the pub at night, but it's not too bad.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. The bathroom has a shower, no bath. You get a parking space. The balcony looks out towards Claife Heights. You can sit out there.
The place is small and simple. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean, warm and functional. It's not a luxury place. Good for a base.
You're fifty metres from the high street. All the shops, cafes and pubs are right there. It's two minutes to the lake. From the pier you can get a cruise boat up to Ambleside or down to Lakeside. You don't really need a car if you don't want one.
If you've got a car, you can get to most of the Lake District within half an hour. Grizedale Forest is about a twenty minute drive. Windermere station is two miles away.
Bedding and towels are included. Sorry, no pets.
For planning walks, the Lake District National Park site is good. National Trust Lake District covers a lot of the local places too, like Fell Foot and Tarn Hows.
