Number One The Terrace is in Windermere. It's a big Victorian house, one of a row. It sleeps fourteen people across six bedrooms. It's got a four star rating. It's been done up well, but it's still an old house.
It was designed by Augustus Pugin. You can tell from the windows and the details. It's Grade II listed, so we've kept those bits.
The main kitchen has an Aga. There's a utility room next to it for boots and coats, and a downstairs loo. The lounge is big, with leather sofas and a fire. The real feature is the bar and dining room on the ground floor. It's set up for groups. You can push the tables back. If you're renting more than one house on the street, you can use it as a shared space.
Down in the cellar there's a cinema room with a large screen TV. You can log into your own streaming accounts.
On the first floor there are four double bedrooms. They're all a bit different. One has an en-suite bathroom. There's also a big family bathroom with a separate bath and a walk-in shower.
The top floor has two more rooms. One is a dormitory with four single beds, good for kids. The other is a double with sloping ceilings. There's another bathroom and a separate shower room up there too.
Outside, there's a patio with furniture and a barbecue. There's a private hot tub. Parking is on site, and there's an electric vehicle charger.
You can bring up to four dogs. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
The house is in Windermere town, so shops, pubs, and cafes are a short walk away. The lake is about a fifteen minute walk down the hill. For walking, you're right on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Good starting points for boat trips are Bowness-on-Windermere or Ambleside, both a few minutes' drive. National Trust Lake District has lots of information on places like Wray Castle or Tarn Hows, which are within half an hour.
If you have a bigger group, you can rent this house together with the other houses on the terrace.
