Methera Cottage is in Clappersgate. It's a five minute drive, or a nice walk, into Ambleside. The cottage is part of a small converted building, so you share the courtyard with a few other properties.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom upstairs. One of the bedrooms has beds you can push together or keep apart. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
You come in through the front door straight into the main living space. It's all open plan. There's a kitchen area, a table, and a sofa. It works. Upstairs, the bathroom has a bath with a shower over it.
There's a shared garden just across the road. You go through a small gate and down some steps to get to it. It looks out over the River Brathay. There's a metal ladder into the water there if you're feeling bold. It's a good spot on a sunny day.
For walking, you can get straight onto trails from behind the cottage. Ambleside has shops, pubs, and places to eat. You can get a lake cruise from there down to Bowness or Lakeside.
Within about half an hour you can get to quite a lot. Beatrix Potter's house, Hill Top, is near Sawrey. Brockhole on Windermere has outdoor activities like treetop nets and mini golf. Grasmere, Coniston, and Langdale are all close by.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a TV, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. There's a highchair if you need it.
