It's number 18 In The Corner. A terraced cottage right off the main street in Windermere.
It sleeps six, over three bedrooms. There's one bathroom, which is a wet room. That's a plus if anyone in your group doesn't like stepping over a bath edge. It has a 4 Star rating, which frankly just means it's comfortable and well-kept.
The location is the main thing. You're about 50 yards from the first restaurant. The pub is 200 yards. There's a shop 100 yards away for basics. You don't really need the car most days.
Bowness-on-Windermere, where the lake steamers leave from, is about a mile and a half down the hill. You can walk it. The train station is also a short walk if you fancy a day out on the train without driving.
For walking, you can just step out the door. The bit I like is you can catch the bus or steamer to one end of a walk and walk back, or the other way round. It makes a full day out easy.
The kitchen is what they call a shaker style. It has a dishwasher. There's a wood burning stove in the lounge, which we leave wood for. Parking is on site, which is useful here.
No pets, I'm afraid.
