Rowan is a small apartment on the Yewfield Estate, up on Hawkshead Hill. It's part of a bigger building but it's all self-contained. It sleeps two people. One main room with a super kingsize bed, a small kitchen area, and a bathroom. There are bifold doors out to a private deck.
The place has a 4 Star rating. It's well kept and comfortable. It's not huge, but it's a good base. The bed is big and comfortable. The bathroom has both a bath and a separate walk-in shower. The doors to the deck make it feel a bit bigger when the weather's nice.
You're on an 80-acre estate here, so it's rural and quiet. There are walks from the door through the woods and meadows. You can walk down to Hawkshead village, which takes about 20-25 minutes. Tarn Hows is on the estate too, which is a nice spot.
Coniston Water and Windermere are both about a 10 minute drive. Ambleside is about 15 minutes. For a longer walk, the National Trust has a lot of information. The Lake District National Park site is useful for planning.
There's a guest house and a vegetarian restaurant on the same estate, about a five minute walk from Rowan. The restaurant is good, you don't need to be vegetarian to enjoy it. The nearest pub is about a mile and a half away in Hawkshead.
Facilities included are all the basics: TV, WiFi, parking right outside, bedding and towels are provided. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a washing machine in a shared utility room you can use.
