Tock How View is up at Outgate, near Hawkshead. It’s one of three cottages in an old farmyard. Detached, so you’ve got your own walls.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is handy. It’s got a 5 Star rating, which means it’s been done to a good standard. Everything works.
The main thing is the view. The living room is upstairs, and it has patio doors that open onto a south-facing terrace. You sit out there and look across the fells. It gets the sun.
There’s a pub about a hundred yards away. The Drunken Duck is a mile down the road. Hawkshead village is about a mile, too. It’s got shops, cafes, a couple of other pubs. William Wordsworth’s school is there.
You can walk straight from the door. Grizedale Forest is about ten minutes in the car for more trails. Windermere is maybe fifteen minutes. Ambleside is a similar drive.
It has a games room with a pool table. There’s a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, parking right there. Bedding and towels are included. Sorry, no pets.
