Willow Cottage is in Spark Bridge, Cumbria. It's a two-up-two-down cottage, sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean.
It's a quirky old place. The walls are exposed slate in the living area. There's a wood burner. The stairs are narrow and a bit twisty, one set to get to the first floor and another to the main bedroom. Just so you know.
The cottage is mostly open plan downstairs. Kitchen, dining, sitting area all in one room. It works.
Outside, there's a small private patio. Then there's a large garden that's shared with the other cottages here. The River Crake runs along the bottom of it. You can hear it from the garden.
The local pub is about two doors down. They serve food. Spark Bridge itself is quiet. There are walks along the river from the door.
Ulverston is about five miles away. It's a proper market town with cobbled streets, shops, and places to eat. It's known for its festivals and has the Laurel and Hardy museum. The Hoad Monument is there if you fancy a walk with a view.
The Lake District is on the doorstep. It's about a twenty minute drive to Lake Windermere. Bowness is another ten minutes on from there. From there you can get boats on the lake. The whole area is good for walking, sailing, or just driving around.
Facilities: there's the wood burner, TV, WiFi, a shared garden, and a patio. Bedding and towels are included. There's a stairgate if you need it. You can bring up to two dogs. We ask that they stay off the furniture.
