This is Ugly Duckling Cottage in Broughton in Furness. It's a one bedroom place for two people. Don't let the name put you off, it's just a name.
You come in through the front door straight into the living room. It's got a stone wall and oak beams. There's a sofa, a TV, and the wifi works fine. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep.
Through the back is the kitchen. It's got everything you need, including a dishwasher. The dining table is there too. Upstairs is just the one bedroom with a kingsize bed. The shower room is en-suite.
It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's clean and functional, not luxurious.
Broughton is a quiet village. There's a small square with a couple of shops, a butcher, and two pubs. You can walk to everything. The village is a good spot if you want to see the south Lakes without being right in the middle of it all.
Coniston Water is about a 15 minute drive. You can get to the coast, like the Duddon Estuary, in maybe 5 or 10 minutes. For longer walks, the Furness Fells are close by. Ulverston is about 20 minutes away if you need a bigger supermarket. Windermere and Ambleside are roughly half an hour's drive, depending on traffic.
Practical stuff: Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car on the driveway. You can bring one dog. We ask that they stay off the furniture.
