The Rockery is in Shap, in Cumbria. It's detached, so no shared walls. The name comes from the water feature out the front, which we put in during the 2023 refurbishment.
It sleeps ten people, in five bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. The rating is 3 Star, which means it's clean and has what you need. It's not a luxury hotel.
You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed. There's parking on the drive.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. We include the bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. WiFi and TV are there.
The village has what you need. A shop, a few pubs serving food, and a local restaurant are all about 200 yards away. There's also an outdoor heated swimming pool, a kids' play area, and tennis courts in the village.
Location-wise, you're right on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Ullswater is about a 20 minute drive. Keswick, Penrith, and Carlisle are all within 30 minutes by car. Haweswater is eight miles away if you're after a rugged walk.
You're well placed for a drive out. The Yorkshire Dales National Park, Hadrian's Wall, and even the Northumberland National Park are all within an hour.

If you're a bigger group, we also have Primrose Cottage next door. You can book both together.
