Garden Cottage
Garden Cottage is in Pooley Bridge. It's detached. It's on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and cows in the fields around you. It's quiet, but it's only about a five minute walk into the village.
The cottage sleeps seven in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have kids or a dog. There's parking right outside.
You're half a mile from Lake Ullswater. You can walk down to the shore from the farm. In Pooley Bridge there are a couple of shops, some pubs and cafes, and you can get the steamer from there. The Ullswater Steamers are a good way to see the lake without driving.
For walks, you're right on the edge of the fells. You can tackle the bigger ones like Helvellyn if you want, but there are plenty of lower-level walks straight from the door. The farm borders the River Eamont, which is nice for a stroll.
Facilities wise: it has a wood burning stove, WiFi, a washing machine, a TV. Bedding is included and we can provide a cot and highchair. There's a BBQ and bike storage. Sorry, no pets.
If you're planning days out, Penrith is about fifteen minutes drive. Windermere is maybe half an hour. The Lake District National Park site has information on walking routes and weather.
