Lilac Barn
Lilac Barn is in Newton Reigny, a quiet village just off the M6, about three miles from Penrith. It's a conversion, so you get the high beamed ceilings and an open plan feel downstairs. It sleeps four, two bedrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is about right. It's comfortable and clean.
The main bedroom has a king size bed and its own shower room. The second bedroom is a double. The main bathroom is on the ground floor and has a roll-top bath. The living area is all one space with the kitchen and dining bit.
You get your own garden at the top, with seating. There are ponds up there, so kids will need watching.
The village has a pub that does food, from bar meals to more formal dining. It's a short walk.
For getting about, you're well placed. Penrith has the shops and a railway station. Ullswater is about a fifteen minute drive. The Northern Lakes and the Eden Valley are right on the doorstep. Keswick is under half an hour away.
Facilities are all there: wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. There's parking right outside. Bedding is included, and we have a cot and highchair if you need them. The place can be done up for Christmas if you book then. No pets, sorry.
