Moor House

Moor House is in Yanwath, about four miles from Penrith. It's a detached house, big and square, sat on its own. The garden is enclosed. The view from the front is across fields towards the Lake District fells. On a clear day you can see a good way.

It sleeps nine. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms. One of the bedrooms and a bathroom are on the ground floor. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and well equipped, but it's not a show home. It's a family house.

The front door is wide and there's a ramp, so wheelchair access to the ground floor is okay. The rest of the house isn't specifically adapted though. The garden is mostly flat lawn.

The local pub is about a ten minute walk down the lane. They do food. For a shop you'll need to drive into Penrith, which is about ten minutes.

You're well placed here for the quieter side of the Lakes. Ullswater is maybe a fifteen minute drive. Haweswater is a bit further, maybe twenty five minutes. Both are good if you want water without the crowds of Windermere.

Penrith has the usual supermarkets and a leisure centre. If you want a proper day out, the Settle-Carlisle railway runs through the area. The Northern Lakes and the Eden Valley are right on the doorstep for walking. The Pennines are east of here, which is a different kind of landscape again, a bit wilder.

Facilities: it's got everything on the list. Washing machine, dishwasher, wood burner, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking for three cars on the drive.
