Finkle Cottage
This is Finkle Cottage in Pooley Bridge. It's a detached house, so no neighbours through the walls. You've got your own parking spot right outside, which is a big help here.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms upstairs and one family bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well looked after and comfortable. The garden is a good size and it's enclosed.
You're right in the middle of the village, but it feels quiet. The shop and the pub are about a minute's walk away. The Ullswater steamers leave from just down the road, and you can be at the lake shore in a few minutes on foot.
There are two wood burning stoves, one in the main living room and one in the dining room. There's also a conservatory and a big boot room for coats and boots, which you'll need. The stairs are standard, not especially steep.
The house is in the Lake District National Park. For walks, you can start from the door or drive a short way. There's good cycling from the village too, and we have bike storage. Places like Glenridding, Aira Force waterfall, and Penrith are within half an hour.
It's set up for a family. We include all bedding and towels. There's a cot, a highchair, and a stairgate. You can bring up to three dogs. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi.
