Bellegrove Cottage is in Watermillock, up near Ullswater. It's a detached stone house, so you're not right on top of anyone. You have your own drive.
It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The garden is big, mostly lawn. There's a stream at the bottom of it. You get a lot of wildlife here, like deer and buzzards.
The best part is you have your own bit of lake frontage, just across the road. It's private. You can fish from there, or put a canoe or small dinghy in if you bring one.
There's a restaurant you can walk to. For a pub or a shop, Pooley Bridge is about a mile and a half down the road. It's a small village with a couple of places to eat. Penrith is bigger, about seven miles away, for supermarkets and more shops.
Being here, you're right by Ullswater for walks, or you can drive up the Kirkstone Pass. The Ullswater Steamer is a nice way to see the lake without walking. You can hire boats at places like the Ullswater 'Steamers' pier.
For days out, you can be in Keswick, or at the northern edge of the Lake District National Park, in about half an hour.
What's here: there's a dishwasher, a washing machine, a cot, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's plenty of parking. No pets, sorry.
