Bellegrove Cottage is in Watermillock, up a private drive. It's fairly isolated, which is the point. You're here for the space and the quiet.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms and has two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The garden is decent-sized, mostly lawn, and looks out onto woods and a stream. You get about 50 acres of woodland to wander in. We see roe deer and badgers a lot. Across the road, you have your own bit of Ullswater lakeshore. You can fish from there privately, or launch a small canoe if you've brought one.
Pooley Bridge is about a mile and a half away for a shop, a couple of pubs and tea rooms. There's also a restaurant you can walk to from the cottage. Penrith is seven miles for a bigger supermarket.
For things to do, you can hire boats or take the Ullswater Steamer from Pooley Bridge. There's pony trekking nearby. For walking, you're right on the edge of the national park so you're spoiled for choice. The lake is right there.
It has the usual things: a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need one. No pets, I'm afraid.
