Lookin How

Lookin How is in Dockray, which is a small hamlet on the edge of Ullswater. It's a detached stone cottage.

It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are typical for a cottage.

The main thing is the spot. You can sit in the conservatory and watch the beck go by. Red squirrels come to the garden. The living room looks out the same way and has a wood burner for the evenings.

There's a pub about a hundred yards down the road. It does food and has a tea room. For a shop, you'll need to drive to Pooley Bridge, which is about four miles.

You can walk straight out the door onto the fells. For a low-level waterside walk, the Ullswater Way is right there. Aira Force waterfall is a short walk up the road.

Penrith and Keswick are both about twenty minutes away by car for supermarkets and other shops. Rheged, the visitor centre, is near Penrith too.

For facilities, it's got what you'd expect: parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. The garden is enclosed. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
