The Rocking Lodge is in Scales, about five miles outside Keswick. It's on a working beef and sheep farm. The views of Blencathra are very good.
It's a detached lodge built for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's compact and open plan. There's a kitchenette, a sofa, a double bed, and the bathroom is off the main room. It's clean and everything works.
The main thing is it rocks. Literally. There's a switch. When you flick it, the whole lodge rocks back and forth gently. It's odd. Some people love it, some turn it off after five minutes. It's up to you.
You've got your own parking spot and a patio with seating. The pub is about three quarters of a mile down the road. They do food. Keswick is a five mile drive. It's got the usual shops, places to eat, and the theatre by the lake.
You're right on the edge of the fells for walking. Blencathra is straight ahead. Keswick Golf Club is directly opposite the site. Derwentwater is about twenty minutes away by car.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, bedding and towels are included, there's a shower. No pets. It's on the ground floor with its own parking.
