Pitcairn House is a large Victorian town house in Keswick. It sleeps fourteen people in seven bedrooms, with five bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The house is on a quiet street about two minutes' walk from the town centre. You get two off-road parking spaces and there's also street parking. Because it's so close, you can just leave the car.
It's spread over three floors. The kitchen is modern and has everything you need. The dining room is big, good for a group meal. The living room is on the first floor, it's comfortable with large windows. All the bedrooms have a hair dryer and a TV, and views of the fells or the town.
The house was built in 1892. The floors are uneven in places. There are a lot of stairs.
Keswick itself has all the shops, pubs, and restaurants you'd need. The Theatre by the Lake is on Derwentwater, where you can also hire boats. For walking, you're right next to Latrigg and Catbells, with bigger fells like Skiddaw and Blencathra close by.
Within about half an hour's drive, you've got the Lake District Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite, and The Lakes Distillery does tours. For a bigger day out, Helvellyn is accessible.
