Pitcairn House
Pitcairn House is a big Victorian place in Keswick. Made from the local stone. You're about two minutes' walk from the shops and pubs in the middle of town.
It sleeps fourteen. Seven bedrooms, five bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is about right. It's comfortable and well looked after.
It's on a quiet street. There's parking for two cars off the road. You can easily leave the car and walk everywhere.
The house is on three floors. The kitchen is modern. The dining room is big enough for everyone. The living room is on the first floor, lots of seating. All the bedrooms have a Smart TV and a view of the fells.
It was built in 1892. The floors are a bit uneven in places, and there are a lot of stairs. Just so you know.
Keswick has everything you need. Plenty of pubs, cafes, outdoor shops. If you want a theatre, Theatre by the Lake is right on Derwentwater. You can hire boats there too.
For walks, you're right in it. Latrigg and Catbells are close. Skiddaw and Blencathra are just there if you want a bigger day. You can drive to the foot of Helvellyn in about half an hour.
Within a thirty minute drive you've got The Lakes Distillery and the Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite. Both are about eight miles away.
Facilities: WiFi, all bedding and towels, washing machine, dishwasher, parking. There's no specific mention of a cot, so if you need one you should ask. No pets.
If you're planning walks, Lake District National Park is the main site for maps and routes.
If your group is bigger, you can book the cottage next door as well.
