Walkers Retreat
Walkers Retreat is a little cottage on a lane just off Main Street in Keswick. It sleeps three people, in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms and the bathroom are on the ground floor. That's useful.
The kitchen and living area are upstairs. It’s all open plan, so you’re up in the light. Some people find that a nice change, though it does mean carrying shopping up a flight of stairs.
Because you're right in the town, you can walk to everything. There are pubs, shops, and the Theatre by the Lake a few minutes away. The boat landings for Derwent Water are close too, so you can get out on the water easily.
The whole point of the place is walking. You can step out the door and be on a path. For the fells, Skiddaw and Blencathra are right there if you're up for it.
It's got a 3 Star rating. Everything works. There's parking for one car on site. The listing says bed linen and towels are included, and you can bring up to two dogs. There's a dishwasher and WiFi.
For planning, the Lake District National Park site is good for walking routes. The National Trust looks after a lot of the local land.
